Part B

NB -  this tutorial was originally part of a larger project, so there will be references to that. However, everything you need to know about making paint from soil is included here. (To see some of my finished artworks as mentioned in the video, please go to Part D.)

Materials:

Closeup photos of various textures, shapes and so on around you (click here for a few ideas)
Mesh strainer
Old teaspoon
Art paper (200 – 300 gsm)
Paint brushes
Soil samples (about 1 cup of 3 or 4 types collected from different locations)
Soy milk, pref. organic (or use organic soybeans to make your own)
Containers for soil samples (I use clean discarded takeaway food containers
with lids)
Permanent pen or adhesive labels to write on your containers (source of collected soil)
Old newspapers
Stiff paint brush
PVA glue (optional)
Shellac (optional)
