eco printing reveal

Probably the mose exciting aspect of eco printing is opening the bundes! They look so uninteresting when you take them out of the pot - a muddy grey or brown - and you wonder if the effort was really worth it.

And most of the time it is!

I managed to fit 6 bundles into my thrifted 25-litre pan, which saves on water and energy.

I don't use any powdered mordants so the used dye water usually gets poured into my dirty pot, or around the native lomandra growing near the house.

The results didn't disappoint. Here is a glimpse:
