About the exhibition: Entries were invited from anyone who loves to stitch, no matter what their level of expertise, consisting of regular observation and stitch activity. The stitches - or marks - visually record our dealing with – or venturing out of - social isolation day by day. The idea was to keep our work simple and uncomplicated as we enjoyed the outdoors for a few minutes daily to observe and record, and then spent a short time afterwards in contemplation and stitching. Recycled and vintage materials were incorporated as much as possible, in line with my gallery's zero waste policy. A slow emergence is what this exhibition is about, as we readjust to life ‘inside’ and 'outside' lockdown.
