Many of us have had to restrict our movements for weeks or months on end in recent times. Rather than dwelling on the negatives, I decided to observe and appreciate the familiar things in my environment and use them in a positive way as a springboard for creativity and making some new art. I used various eco-friendly ways to develop this series of artworks on paper, including paint made from locally sourced pigments, and hand stitching.
My ‘cormorant’ series was inspired by a visit to the Tamar Valley in northern Tasmania.
