In 2019 I bought some mulberry bark and buried it in the ground for 6 weeks (after soaking it in a vinegar solution and wrapping it around some leaves and rusty iron). It became the centrepiece and inspiration for this textile art work which I’ve called ‘lost map’ - the culmination of over a year’s sporadic work as I felt my way stitch by stitch through the creative process, and through a global pandemic with associated lockdowns. Finally finished in February 2021.
Eco dyed fabrics (including cotton and mulberry bark which I buried for 6 weeks), artist’s cleanup wipes, eco dyed yarn, found objects and various embroidery threads.
