A lot of my textile and mixed media art seems to be about journeys. This wallhanging is no exception.
This is an abstract interpretation of a garden, with hints of garden beds, a meandering path and plant-like embroidery randomly hand-stitched with various threads.
The background is a merino wool remnant, woven at Waverley Mills in Launceston, Tasmania.
Appliquéd onto this are scraps of eco dyed wool, cotton and linen, sent to me by an online friend.
Raw edges compliment the rustic design, natural colours and tactile elements.
Features a rod pocket on the back for easy hanging (rod not included).
Size: 30 cm x 77 cm (12 in x 30.5 in)
