Appliqué circles form the basis of this design, inspiring the different stitch patterns for each one. All the lace circles have turned-under edges; each one is made from a naturally dyed scrap of silk, cotton, linen or lace. The background is assembled from wool wadding offcuts with cotton, linen or silk circles, all naturally dyed. Threads are cotton or silk; the couched yarn is eco dyed wool or cotton. For the stitching I used 90% variegated embroidery threads (silk, wool or cotton).
